LAGMC/USC Residency: Salary and Benefits

Other Benefits:

  • $10,000 housing allowance.

  • Meal allowance: $27/day.

  • $1,180 education stipend/year. This rolls over every year until graduation.

  • Chief Bonus was increased to $325/month. This will continue to be paid out as a lump sum at the end of the academic year.

  • $125k diversity, equity, and inclusion fund. We will be forming a resident committee to determine how to spend this money.

  • $20k safety fund. We will be forming a resident committee to determine how to spend this money.

  • $500 intern welcome bonus. This is only available to incoming PGY 1's. We are working with the CIR Benefits Department to develop a process for disseminating this. I will let everyone know when that is available.

  • Pediatric residents get reimbursed $1000 annually to attend conferences funded separately by the department of pediatrics in addition to the CIR benefits.

  • Parking is covered

  • Pediatrics, OBGYN, and IM residents have an additional 2% lump sum bonus as PGY-2 and PGY-3.

Other benefits for CIR members only:

  • $500 a year for conference costs, publishing, and $150 for poster printing. CIR members can access these benefits here.

  • We have a $300k QI fund. CIR members can apply for research grants here.

  • CIR members can access free biostats hours here.

  • We also won a $1500 COVID bonus to be paid out in December to all housestaff. Stay tuned for more details.
