What does working at LAGMC/USC mean to you?: During residency at LAC+USC, my heart was broken for the underserved and marginalized. It became my passion and mission to try my best to ensure that the underserved children and families of Los Angeles received the best medical care possible - especially in the ICU, where we take care of families going through the most difficult times of their lives.

What does working at LAGMC/USC mean to you?: Being a physician in LAC+USC Pediatrics has been my dream since medical school.  It has meant being with a group of doctors dedicated to providing care for children and their families, some of whom have socioeconomic determinants that caused them to be turned away from other institutions.  Our patients are from the hard working families that embody the culture and values of the city of Los Angeles.  My colleagues and I are bound by the same goal of providing the best medical care for these families and their children.  We are also driven to provide the best training to generations of young doctors and medical students with the hope that they will join us in our goal.  A word that has been used to describe our department is "family."  It comes from the support and mentorship we provide one another.  It is also from the overall feeling of hope in the department that I sensed when I was a medical student looking in.  It is the same feeling that I feel now as a faculty member among our group.
