Our outpatient clinics accommodate 50,000 continuity and specialty visits per year. Our outpatient department is newly renovated and family friendly with resources, including an onsite dental clinic!
Our outpatient clinic includes the internationally acclaimed Center for the Vulnerable Child Program (VIP) which is a referral unit for victims of suspected child abuse and neglect. This outpatient department is also flourishing with the addition of the Adolescent Care and Transition Clinic (ACT) which assists the transition of teenage patients with chronic medical problems from pediatric to adult services.
Our unique maternal-child HIV program provides family centered full spectrum primary and infectious disease care to patients and families affected by HIV.
The Breathmobile program, the first of its type in the nation, provides preventive asthma care and education at Los Angeles Unified School District schools via a mobile clinic. This innovative model, which has been replicated throughout the nation, is statistically proven to decrease emergency department visits and hospital admissions due to asthma.
The medical sciences campus also houses basic science and clinical research in which residents are encouraged to participate
Our facilities extend to our shared USC affiliation with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles as our residents rotate there for the required adolescent medicine rotation as supervised by the Division of Adolescent Medicine which provides added experience with community based services such as Job Corps.
